BACKGROUND -
MITAVITE ASIA SDN BHD and EQUINE NUTRITION AUSTRALASIA SDN BHD (hereinafter known as MA and ENA respectively) are intimately related in its business portfolios in that we strive for excellence in all aspects of Equine Related Feeds, Supplements, Gears Accessories, Transport and Exercise Equipments for horses only. -
MA is the only overseas representative office of MITAVITE (a division of Inghams Enterprises Pty Ltd Australia), which is a leading and dedicated manufacturer of scientifically balanced and specialized Horse Feeds under the MITAVITE trademark. The computerized mill is based in Somersby, New South Wales, Australia and has been in operation since mid 1980's. -
MITAVITE is the patented trademark in Australia for blended mixes which are nutritionally balanced and expertly formulated to provide unique products for the racing, breeding and performance horse industry. -
MITAVITE products has extended from Australia to New Zealand, Thailand, Macau, Singapore, Philippines, Japan, Korea, Noumea, Mauritius, South Africa and Middle East. This is the result of high standards of innovation and production, quality control, packaging and proven results of the Mitavite range of products.
FOUNDER & PARTNER -
Rod Shepherd is the Managing Director who has been in Malaysia since 1993. His original Company - Equine Services Sdn Bhd (ESA) established in Kuala Lumpur has merged into the formation of Mitavite Asia to give the Company a more wholesome role. At the same time, he was also appointed the Export Consultant by Mitavite’s Principal Office . -
His primary mission is to market the concept of the advantages of “scientifically balanced nutrition” as compared to “traditional” feeding programs for the optimum performance of the horse industry INTERNATIONALLY. -
His secondary mission is to drive MA to a new direction with the marketing of the brand ‘Vitamite” , a complete range of equine feeds using stabilized rice extract. -
Partnering with Mimi Lew who was involved in the marketing of similar products since 1989, both joined forces to give MA a stronger identity as a serious Company who is very much involved in the Equine Industry. -
Seeing the logistic need to be in the center of all happenings, Mitavite Asia was relocated to Ipoh which then provided a more competitive base to operate from. Geographically, it places the Company in a greater advantage and took the role of a “Half Way Logistic Center” to service both Penang and Selangor based trainers & Clubs. MA VISION
To strive to become a dedicated and professional Equine Establishment handling Specialized Horse Products for the keen Horsemen in various sectors of the Equine Sport.
SERVICE OUTLETS We maintain three Service Centers in three major Racing Clubs – Perak Turf Club, Penang Turf Club and Selangor Turf Club. With the favourable locations of these Service Centers and manned by experienced staff, all related Equine Services are within reach of the Racing and Equestrian clientele. SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES 1. Employing a team of 28 people, our Company exports and distributes, wholesales and retails products from our Principal–MITAVITE and also from several reputable Australian and American companies specializing in - Equine Supplements & Medicaments

2. SPONSORED RACES & HORSE SHOWS - Mitavite Challenge Trophy in the Selangor Oct 2007 Race meeting
- Mitavite Sprint Trophy in the Penang December 2007 Race Meeting
- Mitavite Stayers Trophy Perak November 2007 Race Meeting
- The National Horse Shows in the respective Clubs annually.
3. EQUESTRIAN SECTOR – SPONSORED RIDERS - Under the Mitavite Sponsored Riders Agreement, a team of 18 aspiring Malaysian riders have been selected by the various Clubs for a 12 month period. The objectives of such a sponsorship is to promote the equestrian industry and encourage a larger number of younger people to develop the sport in Malaysia.
